if im paying 200k to go there for four years....

Other options? Doubtful it is worth 200k

ya it is! 52k a year dude. Its over 200k

Not a dude, but what other schools were you accepted to? I know BU is 52k/year…

What is your exact question here?

^He was doubting the worth of it, not the price.

For a school like BU (i.e. well-ranked but not super-prestigious), I personally believe the state flagship is a much more logical option. What are your other options?

Syracuse and Maryland and Michigan. I visited BU and it was such a chill atmosphere and fell in love. Im just not sure that spending 200k for BU is worth it since Michigan and Maryland are almost half the price. know what i mean?

Is this a serious question? Not going to college would be more logical than 200k DEBT…but how much are your parents contributing? All of it?

I guess you are in-state for Michigan? Much better choice for the $; you can go to BU for grad school if you like or move to Boston after grad

Of course I’m going to college ! I just do not want to be regretful making my parents spend 200k who are very serious about education by saving 110k for me to attend a college of my preference

I can get a great education from many colleges that only require 60k for all four years…I just don’t know what to do. I love BU and there SMG program

Well it really depends on your financial situation. I personally wouldn’t pay that much for any college, not to mention Boston University isn’t the most prestigious college out there (or the ones you been accepted into). I would recommend your state school.

If your parents had to save 110k for your education, you can’t afford it. OTOH, Boston is charming and BU does have better parties.

I don’t get it. What’s there to like about BU’s SMG … when you can go to Ross?

He hasn’t gotten into Ross and he might not after freshman year.

BU? 200k of debt? No.

If Michigan is cheaper, I would suggest going to Michigan - it also just happens to be the better school.

If Michigan is cheaper, go to Michigan.

If Michigan is about the same, go to Michigan.

If Michigan is more expensive, that is impossible.

Hmmm, seems hard to imagine choosing Boston University over Michigan or Maryland even if they were the same price – but the latter two are significantly less expensive for the OP. Is there any special circumstance that makes Michigan or Maryland academically much less suitable?

Fair enough. So you are saying the OP might not get into Smith either … though that’s rather hard to do.

So what’s there to like about BU’s SMG?

I would recommend Maryland if cost is an issue or Michigan if not.
