Is Business an easy major to get accepted into college?

As many already know, it’s easier to get into a college with specific majors. For example I have seen a friend get accepted into UCSB with a 3.0 GPA majoring in communications, yet a 4.2 student get denied to the same school but for engineering…

Is business one of the easier majors to get accepted?

My reach/target school is: SDSU
If not, I’d like to go to: SJSU or CSU Fullerton.

College Prep GPA (what CSU looks at): 3.3
SAT: 1200 (math and english only) CSU doesn’t look at writing or essay.
Race: Korean
I live in Sacramento California

For SDSU and CSUF, Business is one of the more competitive majors along side Engineering/CS/Bio. The CSU’s use the eligibility index to rank their applicants by major and accept from highest EI down until all the slots are filled.

Based on your CSU GPA and SAT score, your EI is 3840. For SDSU business, you need around a 4000+ EI to be competitive. 3840 should be good for CSUF and SJSU. SJSU is the only Cal state that publishes their EI thresholds yearly, so you can compare your EI to the list below.

You might want to consider Chico State where an EI of 3700+ is good, Sonoma State or CSUN. They all have good Business programs.

Thank you

the only problem is that I had 3 D’s sophomore year, and made it up junior year… Would that have a big negative impact?

If you retook the classes and got passing grades, then you should be fine.

Look at Long Beach too… a 3840 index will probably get you in.

You have to complete the a-g as spelled out in the link above. If you are one semester short, you’ll be rejected by all the CSUs.
