Is Cal Poly a good choice for an international student?

Would it be a good choice for an international student who has never been to the US? How big is the international student community at CP?

Oh and I forgot to add. I will be going into Computer Science.

Do you mean SLO? There are 2 Cal Polys. Cal Poly is mostly instate CA students, but CA is pretty diverse. only bit over 1 pct Internationals.

It is a beautiful area and I think it would be a great college experience. The college is well regarded, has great connections to business and industry. You can visit for weekends in SF or LA or day trip to Santa Barbara without too much trouble. But it is not attached to a big city where you might find a larger international population and related stores. Instead there are beach communities and resort area, agriculture and a large winery industry with related tourism. A charming area. Much more relaxed and country/beach living. I think it would be pretty nice for college.

Thank You @BrownParent!
I had another question: In terms of the campus and location which one is better?
SLO or Pomona?

No question SLO. The area is gifted in natural beauty. There more of a student and campus life like a traditional college experience as most students life on campus or nearby. Pomona is fine, but it is on the outskirts of the vast freeways and suburbs sprawl of Los Angeles county. Most students do not live on campus (called a commuter campus), although freshman do. Some will live at home with parents, some will be older and have their own place, some will live traditionally in student apartments. It will be tricky to find housing that you don’t need a car for. LA has much to offer that is weird and wonderful, beaches and mountains, but not in that area so much. Traffic is a big part of life to travel in the larger LA area. There are a couple of easy access airports (Ontario, Burbank) as well as LAX further away for getting in and out, though.
