<p>I've seen lots of engineering people with chem21L9 in their schedules...is this required? I just see chem as a requirement, not the lab. </p>

<p>the lab is part of the course, ie you are required to take it. other schools might do it differently, but at duke you have to take all parts of one course at the same time.</p>
