Is CLEP precalculus similar to SAT II Math Level 2?

My ds needs to take the CLEP precalculus test this spring to qualify to enroll in a college calculus class. Precalculus appears to be a relatively new CLEP test, introduced about a year ago, and we haven't found any prep books for it. REA is publishing one in mid-2008, but that's too late for us. College Board offers a study guide, which we'll get, but it has only 30 sample questions.

Has anyone taken this CLEP test? Do you have any suggestions on preparing for it? Would Barron's prep book for the SAT II Math Level 2 be a good way to study for the CLEP?

I'm also interested to hear anyone's experience with the online graphing calculator that students must use for this CLEP test. If a student is comfortable with a TI-83 Plus, how difficult is it to master the online calculator?

Also, is anyone familiar with the curve on the CLEP test?
