Just wondering about a few things, so any responses will be appreciated =].

For some people, yes.
For other people, no.

I think it depends on the person and the college.

Very true...College is what you make of it and what you enjoy...I personally enjoy smaller parties, under a dozen people. I am involved in greek life and have been to frat parties but dont really like them. I have lots of friends who love frat parties. It's really personal preference. And remember, college life is about more than just parties. Its a time of self discovery, friendships, relationships, and academics.

True...thanks guys for replying.

Are you nervous? or had a bad experience? What promted this question besides pure curiosity?

Well I'm kind of nervous, but not really that much, since I live in New York and that means I've seen everything lol. I just want to have a good time in college and really enjoy it, because I've heard horror stories. Like you said I know college isn't all parties, as I always do my work too.

Also sometimes, it seems college as friends describe it is too good to be true. I wonder if some people just make it up about how awesome it is just so they seem cool that they're going to college like they're this big shot now lol.

I know how you feel NYker. All of my friends at college are telling me these stories like they've come out of the movies, but I think as long as your college experience is what YOU want it to be, it'll be good :)

Haha, and yes, as a fellow ex-NYker, you have seen everything! So don't be too scared! ;-)

Thanks finally someone that can relate, haha. I hope it's more like a vacation than hell.

by media, you mean cff? ;)

Idk just in general lol

It really depends. My best friend is drunk every single night at her school. At mine, last night our hall was all drunk and there were hookahs set up in the quad lawn, but my friends and I hung out in my room watching a movie and making fun of the drunk people who stumbled into our room. It really depends on you and your friends.

I love college, it really is like the movies, the parties are crazy and it's just pretty ****ing awesome. i do drink a lot, it's fun. heehee.

Zing.

college is nothing like what you see in movies. My borther's a sophmore in college, and according to him, it's the exact opposite of what movies depict.
I think polkadot_heart is right. It depends on what you think is fun and what isn't.

Overall, no. College isn't a melting pot like the media makes it out to be. For the most part, people just keep to themselves and their group of friends. Especially with city universities, all you see are people walking around listening to their iPods or talking on their cell phones.

There ARE parties that kick ass. Problem around here though is that cops like to make rounds at ~3 AM, that's when the partying stops. And remember: vodka goes great with ANYTHING!

There is not a party every night like in Old School or Animal House, but they do happen. The cops are usually a-holes at most good party schools, so always just go to a party, never be the on to throw a party.
