Is Computer Forensics the Major I Am Thinking of?

I am thinking of a major that helps to track criminals through the use of the internet. This does not really have to do with hackers, firewall security, and things of that nature, but more around the lines of just using the internet's information in order to find more details on scammers and help to provide evidence against them in court for their arrest. Again, this has more to do with criminals on the outside world, not just "cyber" criminals.

I think the proper major is "Computer Forensics?" Please correct me if I am wrong. Also, if this is the right major, is CollegeBoard's given colleges accurate? They only provide a list of roughly 15 schools with this major.

Thanks so much for your help!

yes i think your right. if you can’t find it in the computer science part of your schools web page, call the school advisor and ask, maybe its molded into another program

Computer Science should be a good enough major for that. You don’t need a forensics anything major to go into any field of forensics. Just look at forensic accountants. They just have the years of expertise at doing what they do, to be able to track things like cash flow, etc.
