I looked at the statistics
and cornell accepted 20.5% for class of 2011.

Considering cornell has 7 colleges in it and arts and science always having the lowest acceptance rate among the seven colleges,
is cornell a&s really the easiest ivy to get in?

dont be fooled by acceptance rates though. Some schools are self selective and hence the rates maybe artifically high.
With that said- Cornell is regarded as the
easier
ivy to get into, just because it`s a larger school, hence the school will take in more students than the other ivys.

i was asking about arts & science only since cornell has 7 colleges.
looking at cornell website, arts & science class size is about 1000, which I think is comparable to other ivies
but i guess cornell a&s is still the easiest to get in among all ivies?

Answer - yea it's probably the easiest ivy to get into
However - the 20.5% acceptance rate is fairly deceptive, as that includes other less competitive programs, the acceptance for the CAS itself is closer to 15% I believe (think it might be something like 14.8%)

the difficulty to get into cornell depends on which college you apply to. each college opperates independly with its own admission people.

for girls, the easiest one would be college of engineer. it's about 50% (for girls, a lot lower for guys) under RD. mostly since only about 30% are female.

I think Cornell's acceptance rates are inflated due to the fact it probably gets more qualified people to apply there. Sure HYP have super low acceptance but tons of people apply just to see if they can get in when they have no chance. I doubt many do this with Cornell.
