Is course exemption by AP tests valid for simultaneous degrees?

I was accepted to Berkeley letters and science (as a math major) and I might want to apply for simultaneous degrees with the college of engineering.

The thing is, I don't know if I should take the AP Physics C: Mechanics test. On the AP tests credit webpage for berkeley, it says that a 5 on AP Physics Mech exempts students in COE from Physics 7A but does not exempt students in L&S from anything.

If I get a 5 on the AP test and get accepted for simultaneous degrees, will COE exempt me from Physics 7A even though it'll have been 2 years since I took the AP test?

Note: I'm already signed up for the test, although I haven't started studying. I got 5's on physics B and calc BC though so hopefully cramming won't be too bad.

If you do math and some CoE major, then using a 5 on AP physics C mechanics as a substitute for Physics 7A would be allowed by the CoE major. For L&S majors, you would be fine if the major does not require physics (the math and applied math majors do not require any physics), but would have to take Physics 7A if your L&S major requires it and does not allow exemption with AP credit (e.g. if your L&S major is physics).

When doing simultaneous degrees, you just have to make sure that all major and breadth requirements for both majors and divisions are satisfied by your course work or AP credit.

Before using AP credit to skip Physics 7A, check the old final exams to make sure that you know the material well: https://tbp.berkeley.edu/students/exams/physics/7A/
