Is CS & E major the hardest( is this a double major)? Is this department doing well at UCLA?
Seems like they were looking for new professors. How soon does one get an internship or externship at UCLA? Since there is no honors in Engineering, are there learning communities to group the majors together. Can you choose engineering roomates only/ or which is the closest plaza or suite to the school?
Lastly can you work study with a tough major? Thanks

CSE is not a double major; it is one major that requires courses from both the CS and the EE department. I think it’s probably at the same level of difficulty as other engineering majors.

The department seems to be in reasonably good shape, and the fact that they’re trying to hire more faculty only indicates that they have some extra money to give out.

When a student gets an internship depends on the student. Some get one after their first year, others never get one. Most students in good standing are able to get one after 2nd or 3rd year.

There are plenty of honor societies for engineers which let you get together with other tip students. For CSE majors, those are UPE and HKN.

You can specify roommates in the application, but you are not guaranteed to be placed with them. The closest plaza to campus is De Neve.

Many students are able to find time to work even with an engineering major.
