I know UCSD is renown for its biology/ chem programs.. what about economics/ business?

yes, economics at ucsd is good and a popular major.

Econ is popular.

Business is not.

Business isn't even a major.

A business minor was just created.

In the future, the Rady School will likely offer a business major for undergraduates.

i'd say (in terms of popularity)

biology (human bio, biochem, physiology/neuroscience are popular)
engineering (bio, chem, mechanical are most popular, it seems)
history (for some reason, i've come across quite a number of these)
econ/management science
math
psychology
english lit
music/art

this is based on a sampling of a bunch of my friends, but i imagine it to be the same university-wide, more or less.

econ is a very popular major here, and ucsd has an execellent econ program. with the new busiiness school students can take business electives as well now. i'm a management science major at ucsd, which is more similar to business than econ, but also places heavy emphasis on math.

I've yet to find History majors

My friends tend to be:

Bio Majors

Bioengineering Majors

Econ Majors

Political Science Majors

Communications Majors

Math Majors

Psychology Majors

International Studies Majors (Vincent?)

Linguistics Majors (Vincent again?)

Since we're talking about popularity:

Biology

Econ

Psychology
