Is ED acceptance rate really mucher higher?

Hi,
I seen several posts on CC indicating that a student has a better chance of being accepted at Elon if s/he applies for binding early decision (not early action or regular decision). I can't find anywhere on Elon's website or elsewhere where that is confirmed, however.

Does anybody know if it's an actual fact that your best chance of being accepted is through ED? Or is it just sort of anecdotal?

Thanks!

Absolutely! I don’t have the figures but I think you can find them on CC. If I remember right, ED acceptance was about 80% this year!

Thanks, BLK616. I have also seen a number of posts on CC where people mention this high acceptance rate for Elon ED, but I guess what I’m looking for is a source for that information. It seems like everybody thinks it’s true, but where does that data come from? Do you know of any official source that lists the acceptance rate for ED vs. EA vs. regular decision acceptances?

Thanks.

Yes the Elon Common data set found at [Office of Institutional Research - Common Data Sets](<a href=“Elon University / Institutional Research / Common Data Sets”>Elon University / Institutional Research / Common Data Sets)
says that for 2010-2011 408 applied ED and 351 were Admitted ED

As Scoutmom wrote - the CDS is the best source for admissions rates. I have looked through several years worth of data and the ED acceptance rate is always over 80%. The admissions rep for our area also told us that statistic when we met him. Finally, the New York Times does a chart in the fall with various colleges and how their applications compare year over year and their admissions rates and you can see many colleges and their ED rates there as well.

Thanks very much!!
