It's my dream to become a pilot, and I plan on joining Embry-Riddle's nrotc program. I'm just wondering if Embry riddle is actually worth it

What is the “it” part?

worth going in for an education even though it’s really expensive

E-R is an excellent school. Their Aeronautical Science program is one of the best (if not the best) in the world. Since you are planning to go the ROTC route, your cost will be heavily subsidized making it a great value.

Personally, I would not pay my own money, nor take out loans to attend E-R. Great choice for a full tuition ROTC scholarship, though (Full tuition Air Force ROTC scholarships are rare; only 5%. But Navy and Army ROTC scholarships are normally full tuition). I fairly sure that E-R also gives free room and board if you use your ROTC scholarship there.

FYI - joining NROTC does NOT mean that your tuition “will be heavily subsidized making it a great value”. A full scholarship will definitely make ER more affordable. Keep in mind that joining NROTC and graduating from ER does not guarantee you a Navy pilot slot. You should be mentally prepared to do take a needs of the Navy job.
Good Luck!
