Is Engineering impacted?

I was reading around the board, and I’m not sure if Engineering is impacted or not. I’m interested in applying in Civil Engineering at Davis. Impacted or not?

Basically if it’s impacted I’ll put a non-engineering major as my second major choice. If it isn’t, I may consider another engineering field as my second choice.

If you are asking if Engineering is difficult to be admitted into, yes. Typically the engineering programs are our most difficult programs for admissions. However, the College of Engineering tells us that it is more difficult to change your major into Engineering than to be admitted into it.
If you are asking if it is impossible to get courses in Engineering, no. Although you might not get registered for your dream class schedule, if you work with an adviser early it is possible to graduate in four years.

I'm currently an engineering student here at UC Davis. Apparently, if you're already in the College of Engineering, it is not that difficult to switch to another engineering major. My undergraduate engineering advisor said that after 1 quarter of work, I can switch to another engineering major. I'm currently in computer engineering but will be switching into electrical engineering.

Dear UCD Admissions,
Is "Computer Science & Engineering" more competitive for admissions like the rest of the engineering majors?

Thanks

This depends year to year, but in years past being an engineering major it has been quite competitive.
