If no need based financial aid is anticipated, should this filed be left blank?
No!! At least it wasn’t 2 years ago. If it doesn’t have a red asterisk or other indicator, it’s not. If your family income is at or near $100K plus, I would definitely recommend leaving it off. It will not help you for admissions, and may show a lack of “hardship” that the UC’s seem to find desirable. I think it shows up on the first page of the app that the readers use to score you. My son left that line blank and got into the 6 most selective UC’s including 4 Regents offers.
Thank you @yoamogatos I do not see red asterisk next to it , but they also did not indicate it it optional.
Or they may think, “yay, no FA needed!” I don’t think they even give it a thought Tho.
Sorry if I’m hijacking this thread, but my question is somewhat relevant so I thought that I’d post it here itself.
I do not need FA, but the family income section makes it look like I desperately need a lot of FA to attend college. I’m an international, so applying for FA (or anything that even looks like it) will definitely hurt.
Should I leave the section blank? Or should I mention the income? @HRSMom @yoamogatos
@Ballerina016 - I wondered the same thing and found this on what is mandatory and what isn’t.
“Other information, such as parents’ occupations and family income, are required only if you are applying for the Educational Opportunity Program or an application fee waiver.”

Thank you @happymochi This is exactly what I was looking for.
