Is finance right for me?

I'm currently going to a CC with hopes to transfer next year to Texas Tech. I've been interested in finance for some time now, but my only worry is that I was never that strong in math while in high school (I was lazy and didn't want to learn it). I'm taking developmental math now at the CC as a refresher, but as it stands I'm still a beginner in the subject.

Counting on the wisdom of the College Confidential members I'm asking you "Do I have any chance at getting a finance degree if I'm not an expert in math?" and "How math intensive is a degree in finance?". Thanks in advance!

You will need to conquer college calculus at the very least to succeed in finance. Since you are now in remedial math, it remains to be seen if you can first complete beginning calculus. You might want to look at other areas of business while you are trying to catch up on math.

Well since posting this I went through and finished all of the remedial math courses up to the point that I’m currently taking Business Math and not having any trouble. Guess I just needed to actually read the formulas instead of sleeping in class like in HS.

Finance?..maybe

High Finance?..no because you will need to also conquer Stochastic Calculus, Advanced probability and Stochastic Differential Equations.
