Is Fordham uber Christian

I'm going to Fordham most likely this fall (still waiting for NYU to take me off their waiting list...) Is the school overly christian? Will kids come up to you and make fun of you for being a different religion? I'm Hindu in name only, meaning I don't really care for any religion. Will I be a target of teachers, students, etc.? Or is the school secular? I don't want any Christian assemblies or anything either lol.

Ask on the Fordham forums or look up student reviews for Fordham. You’ll proably be required to take theology courses but that’s about it. Religion definitely won’t be forced down your throat. You won’t be targetted or discriminated in any way, as long as you don’t walk around provoking others about religion, of course.

Fordham is Jesuit, which is the most liberal Catholic order. The Jesuit schools tend to be more mixed and more accepting of other faiths than any other Christian school. There’s a Jewish professor at Fordham that says he feels more comfortable being Jewish at Fordham and with the Jesuits than he did at his Ivy League alma maters. It is not an overly religious atmosphere, though religion is there for those who want it. There is a theology requirement, but it can be taken on any religion. I’m not going, but I came close, so I visited and learned a good deal about it.
