I guess I'll start by saying I go to a public high school in Tennessee and I'll be a senior when school starts back in August. I plan to apply to GWU early decision probably for international affairs or journalism.

I'll (possibly) (hopefully) be in the top 10% of my class of around 500. I meet all the requirements to graduate with honors. I have taken the ACT once and my composite score was a 28, and I believe my other scores were reading-33, English-33, math-24, and science-25. I have yet to take the SAT, but I plan to take the Math 1, French, and U.S. history subject tests on October 5 because apparently some subject tests are required for early decision. I don't see myself doing poorly on those.

My unweighted GPA for last year (junior year) was a 3.5. I took 1 AP, 1 IB, and 5 honors classes last year. Next year I'm hopefully taking 1 AP, 4 IB, and a couple scattered honors classes.

My extracurriculars include ten years of piano lessons, during which I was required to play at nursing homes, church functions, and obligatory Christmas recitals. I have also been in honors choir all four years of high school. I am the vice president of my school's Young Democrats club. I am a member of French Honors Society, Tri-M (Music Honors Society) Interact Club, Leo Club, and Habitat for Humanity. I tutor elementary school kids and volunteer at the child advocacy center in my town, but those are my only non-club related volunteer work.

I realize I've typed a lot without even realizing so I apologize in advance, but if you could give me your opinions that would be just absolutely lovely.
