do you believe god is actually real??

holy crap this is going to start a big stupid debate

I so want to believe. Otherwise, what is there after death?

you're basically asking whether a poster is an atheist or theist. This has been done many times. Search old threads.

i'm just wondering that ppl that believe he is real y do they?? i've always wanted to believe god was real its just that i couldn't.

Your disbelief in God likely comes from you unquestionably tying the existence of God in with the idea that God actively watches and guides our world. There are other possibilities.

acutally i believe god is just another thing which belives in another greater god

r we really gonna delve into a religion/belief debate?

then what is your reasoning for not being able to believe god is real?

your statement above is flawed:

Definition: God is a thing which believes in another greater God.

Therefore, God is not God. It seems that you run into the old paradox: could God create a mountain so high that he could not climb it, etc. Either way, even if you do believe what you've just posted above, you've submitted to the idea of eternity, which for most implies an afterlife. I would just be content with your own belief that there is something after death and not worry what others think. If this thread reflects previous ones, you will find that probably 50% of CC members are atheists.

yes (10 char)

I haven't a doubt in my mind of God's existence. It's how He (for lack of a better word) exists that so troubles me.

I tend to agree with Spinoza in his theory of pantheism.

the OP is banned, so just let the thread die now...

"I haven't a doubt in my mind of God's existence."

Amen to that. :)

yawn
dun realli care about god..

Of course :)

Sure. I don't care how intelligent Koko is, I refuse to believe that evolution goes that far.
Plus it keeps most Americans aware of the value in humans lives

That's certainly possible; however, don't turn a blind eye to the ignorance religion can often create.

Personally, I'm agnostic. I used to be quite religious, actually, but I've since realized that it doesn't matter whether God exists or not, because He, She, or It apparently doesn't want to have anything to do with us.
