Is GPA and LSAT really the only things that matter?

I am a sophomore in Rutgers University. I want to major in Corporate law. My current major is Business Management. i want to be an entrepreneur and knowing laws is very important. I have heard multiple times that only gpa and lsat scores matter. Is that still true for top 10 law schools? Because everybody which applies to them has a good gpa and lsat. Also do legal internships matter? Or is another in my case business internship can overpower the legal one?

Thnaks for your help.

If you want to be an entrepreneur, you don’t need a law degree - entrepreneurs hire lawyers to handle the legal aspects of their businesses. Does it make sense to start your career with six figures of law school debt? It would make more sense to get an MBA, given your interests. Go to law school if you want to be a lawyer.

Although you’ll hear some debate about whether GPA and LSAT are the only things that matter, no other factor matters as much.

Thanks for the response. I want to be a lawyer in order to not get tricked by other lawyers. Law is also an interest of mine. Do legal internships matter? Because all my friends who want to go to law school want to have one and I want to be unique and stand out. Also how important are EC? Because many say they are not.

valeryk0, you’re wasting your time. It takes tens of thousands of hours of law practice to become a savvy lawyer, since law school teaches you almost nothing that’s practical. Entrepreneurs don’t have that kind of time, since running a business is extremely time-consuming. Plus, even though I am a lawyer, when I need legal work done for me, I always hire another lawyer; otherwise I’d be blind to the flaws in my legal position.
