is grad school worth going for in accounting?

this might be a bit too early for me to decide, but im declared to uci as undeclared. i heard they accept a miniscule amount of applicants for their business program, but ive heard that another alternative is going as business econ major and minoring in accounting. i really want to pursue accounting, but is it ok if i go with that particular route for my major and is grad school helpful for my salary and job offerings for accounting? also im thinking about transferring to usc, ucla, or cal, what do i need to do to get myself competitive?

I’m in a similar boat as you and I would advise you to try as hard as you can to not go to Grad School. I don’t know where your school is ranked as far as accounting goes but if you are thinking of transfering make sure you go to a target school. If you do well and get a internship then you should be fine to get recruited by a big 4 (if that’s what you want to do). The only reason I will go to a masters program myself for accounting is if I don’t get recruited by a Big 4 my first go around, because a accounting masters is pretty much worthless. So pretty much just make sure you make it in that miniscule group that get in the business program/

Oh and make sure you have your 150 hrs
