I graduate in 2014 but, I am planning out the College I want to apply to early. I got a letter from Sam Houston State today saying that I qualified to apply for Honor College. The benefits of Honors College sound very nice. But, I do have a few questions about Honors College...

Are the classes that you take harder?
Are you required to dedicate more time, when you are in Honors College?
Is Honors College better than regular College?
Should I apply to Honors College if I plan on enrolling in Medical School after my Undergrad?

1) Usually
2) Students in the honors college often have better study habits than their classmates who aren’t in it. They’re often far more prepared for college than many of their classmates, especially at a school like Sam Houston State. The professors may adjust their expectations accordingly.
3) It depends on the school, your major, how the honors college is set up, etc.
4) It’s up to you. I’d say yes.

Okay, thank you :)

Wow. That was extremely helpful.:thumbup::thumbup: Thank you so much! I think I’ll apply and then if I do not like kt for my Freshman year, then I’ll switch into regular college :)

Depending on your scores and SAT/ACT scores, if you qualify for Sam HOuston’s Honors College, you may qualify for Honors Colleges elsewhere (many colleges have them) that would allow you to visit other parts of the country. Ask for information, it’s free and it’ll help you compare.
