ive been accepted to the Davis honors program. is it worth it? how much of an effect does Honors notation on your transcript have in terms of jobs opprtunities and college experience?

I also got accepted but I tossed it out, because I deposited for SCU already. However, I started to lean towards Davis again recently. Do you know where I can get the information on the program again?

gracias

how do i sign up for this program?

You dont sign up for it if you get a Regents you get into the Integrated Honors Program. I got in and I didnt apply for it on the app. I am pretty sure they select you without you having to ask.

blueprints--what you want to look at is the Davis Honors Challenge, or DHC. It's open to anyone to apply to.

Do you mean the Davis Honors Challenge (DHC) - or Integrated Studies Honors Program (ISHP)?

Two very different things. ISHP is a very big deal, invitation only, for Regent's Scholars and other top students.

See this website for more info: http://integratedstudies.ucdavis.edu/

If you received the ISHP invitation I'm sure the ISHP program manager will help you with questions. Contact Jenny Moody, jhmoody@ucdavis.edu

Say I get invited to apply for ISHP. Is it okay if I apply to DHC, too, just in case I don't get into ISHP?

If you are a Regent's Scholar and receive an "invitation" along with your UCD acceptance, you are guaranteed a space.

If you receive an invite later, for one of the remaining spaces in the dorm, then DHC would be a good back-up.

Since IS is a one-year program, some ISers then continue with DHC.

So...if I apply to both, and get into both, I can decline my DHC acceptance for IS, and vice versa?

And as for continuing on, are you then garaunteed a spot in DHC or will you have to reapply into DHC?

How is the DHC? Is it very time consuming? Like will it take up a lot of time from your other courses? Is it worth it?

A current ISer told me that the DHC people have a lot more work than the ISers. He said their dorm is "really quiet all the time."

eeks..how intimidating...i'm getting second thought about dhc.

There's an info meeting 3:30 - 4:30 at Welcome Day about it, I think. There's also current students on hand to answer questions at its booth in the fair thing.
