I came upon that rumor somewhere and it's got me freaked out, because I'm not too much of an athlete- I prefer the arts :3 Seriously though. I know they require athletic participation, but do they give too much importance to it in any respect?
Your comments are appreciated. :)

I have heard similar things. While Hotchkiss does value athletics, they also value the “classics.” Such as Latin, Greek, etc. If you show strengths in those areas, your lack of athletic ability may not matter. But as I am not a part of the Hotchkiss community in any way, I can’t say for sure. :-/

Don’t worry if you’re not a strong athlete! There are some people who are complete jocks, and then others who have never played a sport competitively in their life. The student body is so diverse, so don’t worry about fitting in! You can sign up for intramural sports instead of interscholastic sports and still fulfill the requirements, and you’ll probably be among people who have similar abilities as you. Don’t worry! :)

Alright, thanks, guys. That’s really reassuring.
@goldenfygg So do I just take as many Classics-related courses as I can fit in and hope they’ll overlook my athletics? Somehow I don’t think that would work for any school, using academics to make up for other things. Thanks for your input though! I’ll definitely look into the classics at Hotchkiss.
DD is a prep at Hkiss. You don’t have to be an athlete at Hkiss though you do need to participate in athletics. Are you asking about taking Classics related courses in preparation for applying or as your plan if you get in?
