Is Interdisciplinary Engineering good?

hey guys, I'm bit confused whether to pursue an Interdisciplinary Engineering major that focuses on breadth rather than depth (for example Industrial & Operations Engineering major). I understand it all depends on my career goals in future (maybe looking for decent job regardless of industry). But is it worth to pursue such major that's not ABET accredited or suck it up and stick to IOE. Oh Statistics and Probability in advanced classes are not going into my likening at all. Maybe I am considering interdisciplinary engineering with minor in Environment.

But from what I understood, the engineering degree I will be getting is from Michigan and as an institution it ranks "pretty" high in almost every aspect and it's "as long as from Michigan"

Thanks for all feedbacks!!

I would stick with IOE, otherwise you may be left explaining your degree to people in the years to come. Obviously, any Mich degree is going to carry some weight - but I think you will find many more opportunities with an IOE degree… Just stick through the stat classes, I know they’re not fun but once you get through them you will only need to remember the basics.

Thanks purduefrank…your reply somehow helps clarifying my options and maybe stick to IOE.
