While I impatiently wait for April 1st..just thought I'd ask. Is interest considered in the admissions process? I have visited campus, emailed & done informational chats.

Visits, calls, and chats don't factor into our review. We aren't a school that track interest.

Okay- that's good to know. Thank you for your speedy response!

While these qualities might not factor, doing all of the above might help a dean/admission officer to recognize you as he or she is reading your application. It certainly doesn't hurt and if you showed great enthusiasm for UVA in your conversation, it could help.

I hate to say it, but we meet so, so many students that it's sometimes pretty hard to connect a conversation had after a tour many months earlier with an application. Most admission officers are pretty good at feigning recognition when someone says "we met you in _______ (name of city where we had a 200 person evening program) last year."

In the cases of students who really made an impression (great or not-so-great), I think many admission officers will pass a file off to a colleague who won't be biased. I usually take a peek after the file as been reviewed just to see how things went. :)

Barboza is right...it could help, but don't think that you need to get in the car and come to UVa again to have more face time.

I have a different type of interest question. I'm applying for transfer to UVA, but this is my 3rd time applying. I applied in high school and I applied last year as a freshman. Since UVA keeps an applicant's records on file for 2 years, would UVA see that this is now my 3rd time applying? I have a strong desire to go to this university, and I was wondering if repeated attempts to get into UVA, shows interest to the admission officers?
