Hi! I recently had my interview at Wake Forest. On the website, it says they are supposed to be ~25 minutes but mine was ~65 minutes. I think I did I good job and my bubbly, cheerful personality really stood out. I think it had to be a good thing it was so long, right? At the very least I wasn’t boring enough to sweep out earlier. So does the length of an interview mean anything?
I wouldn’t read too much into it. But if you think it went well it probably did.
I think it can go either way. If someone clearly is a good fit from the beginning, the interview could be short: 20/25 minutes. If it goes longer, it could be good or bad.
My son did a Skype interview and didn’t come away with a good feeling. The interviewer was rather lifeless and dull and he got no feedback or energy from her, but he was accepted so I guess it went well enough.
Has anyone heard back regarding their early decision application?
I’m not applying ED @meremere28 I’m applying regular decision. Sorry!! Best of luck though
@hayisforhorse My son is a freshman at Wake. He interviewed in person, 55 minutes, felt it went well and he was accepted ED. (I know you’re applying RD.) We know kids that had a much shorter interview that still got in, and also know kids with long interviews that they felt good about, and they still did not get accepted. So bottom line is that - if you felt it went well, it likely did… but I’d still put a lot of emphasis on your stats and strength of overall application.
My DS was admitted ED a few weeks ago. He interviewed on campus in June and it lasted about 25 minutes.
No.
