Hi!
If you’ve seen my other posts, you know that, in general, I’m awful at math, and having the world’s hardest calculus teacher means I currently hold a C in AP Calc AB. I was offered admission EA at Uchicago this year and committed–previously I had a 4.0 all throughout high school, so this dramatic drop in my math grade is noticeable.
I calculated what, most likely, my transcript will look like by the end of senior year:
Lit: A/A-
Physics: A
Spanish 6: A
Chinese 4: A+
Independent research project: A/A+
Law: A+
Calc AB: C+/B- if I get lucky lol
Worst case scenario is that I have an A- and a C+ on my transcript–how bad is this? Enough to get me rescinded?
Ok here’s the actual question part–this entire semester I’ve been freaking out about calc and can definitely write a good letter explaining how difficult this class has been/reputation in the school and my efforts to improve (got a tutor, extra help, etc). I want to make sure there’s no chance I get rescinded, so would sending my admissions officer a letter explaining the situation and my current efforts be a good idea? It’s a month or so before I graduate, so I’d just like him to be aware…or maybe this isn’t a good idea, since I don’t want to draw attention to it? Idk, any advice?
Thanks!
