Is it a waste of money?

I'm currently in the process of applying as a transfer (deadlines are obviously very soon) and before I submit my application to Brown and hand over $60, I wanted your opinion as to whether you think I have any reasonable chance at getting in.

I'm currently at a Top 20 LAC.
College GPA: 3.7
College ECs: Assistant Section Editor for the newspaper, member of several environmental organizations and have been very active in environmental initiatives on campus, work for the college's office of communications as photographer, volunteer work, radio dj.

High School GPA: 3.7 unweighted with all honors and several APs.
ECs: pretty solid, varsity sport for 2 years, editor of yearbook, founder of a club.

SATs: W:750 M:700 R:710
Bio: 690 Lit: 700

Recommendations should be pretty good.

Brother currently attends Brown.

Obviously, with an acceptance rate of 3% last year, getting into Brown is tough and probably involves a lot of luck. Is it honestly worth it for me to even apply?

1) it's $70 now
I think you have better chance than some so go ahead and apply.

Best of luck

Depends how badly you want to go, I suppose. I was rejected last year, but I'm glad I know it, as opposed to spending the next couple of years wondering "what if."

Does Brown look at legacy? Maybe.. your ec's are good by the way so... up to you! =) best of luck!
