Is it alright to call JHU "Hopkins" in Essay

Probably a minor thing, but is it too informal or colloquial to refer to the school as "Hopkins" in the essay?

Also, should there be a title? Headers for each page? What is the formatting for supplemental essays in general?

i wrote “JHU” for Johns Hopkins University.

i didn’t have a title but i guess you could… if you are using the common app, they have headers for the admissions people (like your name and app # on all the pages) so all you need to do is type up your essay and upload it.

More than alright. I wish people would drop the Johns from common usage, in fact. It sounds so much better. “JHU” is a silly acronym—Hopkins has some character.

It doesn’t matter. Johns Hopkins, Hopkins, JHU – we don’t care. Just spell it right.

Also doesn’t matter. Formatting is up to each applicant. The Admissions Committee does not have a preference.
