Of course not, both are great schools and it will make interesting dinner conversation, especially during football season.
Besides, parents always want their kids to do better than they did.
The son of former UCLA basketball star Charles O’Bannon just signed with USC.
I don’t think it’s a big deal.
I don’t think it matters all that much. My family seems to love UCLA for their football team and always said UCLA has the nicer campus, but when I went to orientation at UCLA, I regretted my decision and went against what my family wanted and switched over to USC, lol. I’ve been happy at USC and I was just lucky that I still had time to switch
you’re going to a better school so who cares realistically its not a big deal though. Now your children will have alumnis from a variety of schools
In your parents day USC was the University of Spoiled Children. That has changed.
It was also known as University of Second Choice (to UCLA, of course).
Back then LA was unique in that the state school was considered more prestigious than the private school.
On Game Day, yes it will be awkward
Seriously??
Get the “house divided” sticker they sell in the bookstore for the family car and all will be fine.
As long as you don’t mind hearing your Bruin parents making fun of “Fight on” and Tommy Trojan.
Just don’t ask you parents to wear a t-shirt for the school you’re going to.
The only thing you will tire of is the insecurity of the Bruins fan base that is everywhere there are Bruins. They carry this odd defensive need to justify they are better - maybe it’s the ol’ public v. (I can’t afford) private battle. Ya, I said it. The UCLA fans just seem more bitter, while USC fans are way more secure.
