I go to a CC and i am failing my calculus-based physics class. Its really my fault for this as i havnt taken a physics class since high school and i havnt passed calc 1 yet(which is what they recommend you to do). I have a test this week and i have tried to study but i cant get the material. If i drop or withdraw from the class would it look bad? I have never failed a class before, ive gotten a c once but never a F. I figured I could drop it and ace my other classes since i spend the VAST majority of my studying for this class. Im 90% sure i should drop the class i just need that 10% more convincing. Thanks for any posting/advice.

One W is not going to make or break your entire life. If you haven’t finished calculus yet, then you should withdraw from the class and retake it once you know the calculus necessary to pass the class.

If it helps, I have two Ws and I got into a top PhD program in my field - I’m finishing up this year - as well as a variety of top-ranked master’s programs.

So yes, go ahead and drop it!
