is it bad to retake a course??

No, if you aren't lazy enough to learn the SAME topic, go ahead...

but do u think that it will hurt my chances?? b/c hey, if i can remedy that grade, i'm taking that class again

I heard that whilst retaking a class means you slacked off the first time, or something, getting an A after a retake shows dedication in adcom's perspectives.

Your school LETS you retake a course, even if you passed?
Oh, it's only us that fail a course that have to retake it. (Damn you, geometry.)

No, if anything, to improve your chances and to pass the course is why you're retaking it in the first place, is it not?

I'm not sure if this is the case at your school but if you do retake a class, my high school designated that it was a repeat and it was pretty prominent on your transcript. I'm not exactly sure how colleges would take it.
