I’m finalizing my college application resume, and I haven’t included any past on my education since colleges will be receiving my transcripts and academic history anyways, so I felt it would be too repetitive. Is this important, and should I try to fit it in somehow? I’ve currently got a full page, so fitting education in might require removing, adjusting, and formatting other sections, so should I bother to?
While I do see how it might be repetitive, the same argument could be made for including a resume on a college application at all (since you have the activities section of the Common App), so I’m not sure whether or not it’ll be important.
Why are you making a resume? Does one of the schools that you are applying to require it? Is there additional information that is not found elsewhere on your application? If not, I would just forget the resume entirely.
@me29034 Some of the colleges I’m applying to have optional slots for resumes; it’s not required. I was considering not making one, but I spoke with someone at admissions for a college, and they said that one of the important things behind a resume is just seeing that a student can properly format one, so I should make a resume for college applications. I’d say that there certainly is more information on the resume than on the Common App, since there’s so little space to write about stuff on the Common App.
