Is it challenging to take 4 AP classes at one time and maintain good grades?

I have never taken an AP class before because my school does not allow you to until junior year. I signed up for AP Lang, AP Psych, AP Bio, and AP Physics 1 for my junior year. I will also be taking French 4, Honors Algebra 2, and Gym (although that’s irrelevant). I have about a 3.83 GPA.

Taking 2 AP sciences might be tough, but if you put the work in you’ll be fine. Psych and Lang should be light. Expect your unweighted GPA to lower a bit, but colleges will like the rigor of your schedule

Agreed.

Some students can handle 4 AP’s with no problem, while others struggle with one. We have no idea where you lie on this continuum.

Agree with the above and will add it depends on the teacher. My son found 4 AP’s last year kept him very busy, but was manageable. He took AP Physics, AP Calc BC, AP Govt, and AP Comp Sci. He is a math guy so most fell in his wheelhouse, however one teacher’s method was to leave all work to the students, didn’t teach during class, etc. It was an eye opener for my son, but a good lesson. He had to work harder in that class. Maybe check with others on the teachers. Also see if you can drop down a level in a class during the first few weeks in one of the courses if you are struggling. There could be testing and other EC’s keeping you very busy. Good luck!

this past year i took

AP lang

AP U.S. Gov

AP US

AP stats

French 4 honors

Physics honors

i thought it was pretty easy as long as you are willing to put in the studying and reading. For me, English lang was the only one i found it impossible to get an A+ in.

@Dg7689 I have done very well in my science classes the past 3 years so I am not too worried about those. At least bio, since I just finished a year of chem (I heard AP Bio is a lot of biochem) and already have a year of bio under my belt. My chem teacher told me not to worry about Physics because the teacher that teaches AP lets you use notes on tests (although I’m an overachiever and try not to do that if allowed on tests).
