Is it easier to get in as sociology or philosophy?

Hi,

I’m a transfer looking to apply to cal poly slo with a low gpa (3.12), i have solid extracurriculars and community service though. I was wondering if anyone knew which major was easier to get into? I am interested in both philosophy and sociology (although I know friends who have gotten into English as freshman with ~3.2 gpa, so that might be another option)

I’ve been trying to research it but there’s not much information, so if anyone knows anything please help me out! thanks :)

Philosophy. Go to the Keys to the Kingdom post and you’ll find Poly projections for each major. You’ll be concerned with the NTR category. It will show how many they expect to apply (NTR apps) and how many they expect to take (NTR target). Since their yield is about 33%, multiply the target by three to get the number of acceptances. Divide that by the total apps and VOILA! you get the anticipated admission rate for this past year. Good luck.
