Is it "easy" to land a high paying job as a CS major?

With CMU being the #1 school for CS, are those with a bachelors degree guaranteed a high paying job ($80k+) by graduation? Do the majority of students end up working at Google and Microsoft? Is the field in danger of being outsourced?

Also, I'm only a junior in high school at the moment. By the time I enter college (I hope to be attending a top CS university), will CS majors still be booming? Right now I've been hearing that CS majors are in high demand and that some even get multiple job offers by graduation. And those job offers start with more than $80k. Will this still happen by 2020?

CS is predicted to be the hottest job in the market in 2020

Look at CS statistics [School of Computer Science-Career and Professional Development Center - Carnegie Mellon University](http://www.cmu.edu/career/salaries-and-destinations/2012-survey/scs.html)
and if you’re interested, ECE is also up there:

I imagine in 2020 it won’t be unusual at all to get a job with a starting salary of $80k.

Kids from here get hired very easily, usually before they graduate.

Even freshman/sophomores in CS get 20k summer internships. CMU CS students have no problems getting jobs.

^ glad to hear that !!

Yes, the CS kids get really great jobs out of college with perks. If you’re willing to work at a startup, tech company, or a bank.

Will that apply to ECE as well @ CMU?
Is it typical to get good jobs for ECE undergrads by their senior years?
