Is it even possible?

So I learned about BS/MD programs even existing near the end of sophomore year, so I didn't really have much time to set up all the proper extracurriculars and all that (although I did do research at NIH this past summer). Does anybody know whether it's possible to get into a BS/MD program without hospital volunteering/shadowing? If so, then where would I have the best chance?

Thanks!

I never shadowed nor did I do research and I only learned about then mid-way into junior year (so you already have an advantage), but I still got into three of them. It’s all about what you can say and write about what you did, not what you actually do.

I learned about BS/MD programs in late August just before my senior year (i.e. two months before early apps are due). I had no research experience or volunteer experience. I applied to five programs, got a single interview and acceptance at the same program (one affiliated with Albany Medical College). It’s very possible; you just have to write good essays and interview well.

If you have a summer of research at NIH and your PI is giving a letter, you stand a good shot.
