Hey guys I am a current US junior with Chinese passport. I am planning to apply for CUHK next year with new SAT + SAT subject tests and APs.(as an international student)
My prediction(haven’t taken yet)is a SAT score with about 650in Reading and Writing combined and 750+ in Math(not sure, probably higher) with 3 SAT subject tests(Math level 1-800,Math level 2-780, Word history 750+) and 3 APs (psychology and Human Geography higher than 4 and Chinese though they do not count Chinese as it’s my first language), I may add some AP/SAT II scores after submitting the Fast Track application.
Other, I got some national awards in China and I am a current member of Student Council and International Club, also want to attend CUHK’s summer school next year.
Not sure if my scores are competitive enough for applying…Btw, does US high school diploma make more chance for the applicants…?
Btw I am going to take Cultural Studies as my major, is it easier than Law/Business…?
I know it is harder for Chinese to get into HK universities than Americans, as many people from the PRC are applying to these universities. I applied to HKU and CUHK and ended up going to HKU, if you want to talk about my experience. I studied at CUHK for Mandarin, but I didn’t do my degree there.
I don’t know about cultural studies in regards to CUHK, but I studied business at HKU, if you want to talk about that experience. May have some relevance for HK education in general.
Thx! I know that HKU and CUHK are very selective schools and harder for Chinese students to get into. I saw some guys with extremely high SAT/ACT scores and perfect AP scores applying for these two schools…to be honest I am not confident…BTW did you use your SAT/ACT to apply for these two schools?
Yeh but they just have the minimum scores
I applied for cuhk, hku and hkust this year. I got into cuhk with full scholarship. I got invitation for interview from hkust. haven’t heard anything from hku.
Congrats first! Did you use ACT/SAT scores to apply for those three schools or anything else?
