Is it hard to get hired as a high school teacher in California?

I was thinking of getting a single subject credential for teaching high school. I heard they're not really hiring teachers in California and firing them. Is this true?

It is really hard to get hired now, especially in California. But Math/Science/Sped is easier than English/History.

The schools in California mostly asks for experienced teachers, freshers hardly get any chance there. For high school they only prefer those teachers who are trained in education, with at least a bachelor’s degree. So these two conditions really make it tough to get a teaching job there.
