Hi, I was wondering whether I would have any shot at being accepted into Virginia Tech. I'm only a sophomore in high school but it's just a goal.
I go to a public school in central New Jersey and it's a great school. This semester I'm taking all normal classes and next semester two honors classes. Last year a didn't do so well because I just didn't care too much about school but I have straightened out since. Anyway, my GPA is a 3.0. I want to graduate with at least a 3.5 unweighted. I have straight A's right now so if I keep it up I think I will be able to reach a 3.5 by the end of my high school career. Also this year I'm joining a couple of clubs and doing some community service with my church (Working at soup kitchens). What do you guys think? Should I be doing more clubs or honors classes?

VA Tech looks at weighted GPAs.

So just take more honors classes?

Taking more honors classes and doing well in them is a good start, and not just for VA Tech but for any other backups.

You might want to score 1850+ on the SAT or 27+ on the ACT also.

Thank you.
