Is it harder to get accepted into umich oos or ucla/ucb in state?

Title pretty much says it all. Got deferred—>accepted ea at michigan as a california resident and am wondering what that means for my chances at ucla or cal. Was accepted lsa at michigan and applied l&s at ucla and cal if that makes a difference. Thanks!

As a California resident, your high school guidance counselor should be able to use Naviance to share how others with similar stats from your school have fared regarding admission to UCLA & Berkeley.

The overall admission stats are comparable among the 3 schools, however, UMich admits a lot more OOS students than other public colleges. So admitting into UMich from OOS is easier than to UCB/UCLA from OOS. It is also easier to get in UMich for in-state than UCB/UCLA due to the population difference. The admission chance for UMich from OOS should be similar to UCB/UCLA from in-state… You should be able to get into UCB or UCLA in-state.

If your academic credentials are GPA heavy, that can be favorable at UCs. But if they are test score heavy, that can be unfavorable at UCs.

if you are a Calif resident AND your parents did NOT go the college, AND your academic credentials are what ucbalumnus mentioned above, then your chances of acceptance at UCB and or UCLA are about the same as acceptance at Michigan.
Both UCB and UCLA reserve a large % of spots for first generation applicants.
