Hi Everyone!

Can some one PLEASE tell us where to put the Sports activities in UC application? Here is the big picture:

UC only allows 5 activities to be listed in EC. She already has more than 5 activities of academic and entrepreneurial nature, and she really wants to write them in her application. And she is adamant to list them since she feels they are more important to her, and so she says that they must be listed. However, she has more than 500 hours of EC in School sports - my daughter has done Varsity Tennis (9-12) and Varsity-B Cross-Country (11-12). Further Tennis is one of the very few EC that she has been doing consistently since 9th grade (except volunteering).

To summarize, out of total of 1200 hours of EC, 500 hours are in Sports and 500 in academic activities and 200 in volunteering. Thus, sports hours are a big fraction of her EC and not listing them perhaps significantly weakens her application (according to me). So, we have following questions:

Where should she put these sports activities in applications?

And, given the above context, how important is it to put sports as an EC even if it replaces one academic EC (where she spent just 50 hours though got a paper published in an international conference)?

Can the research paper publication be written as an Award/Honor? This is an A-grade international conference and is considered premier in that area.

Since UC deadlines are soon so we are really worried. Please please help! Many thanks for reading this and giving your valuable opinion!!!!
