Is it important to take AP exams if your school doesn't offer any?

I wish to major in physics. At first I thought about taking the Calculus BC and Physics C exams but after reading a couple of threads I found out that it is rather tough to self-study these subjects and that they corrospond to the 12th standard CBSE Physics and maths syllabus. What should I do? Should I take them? I have just passed 10th and so I don't have the required knowledge to be able to ace these exams. Will a college hold it against me if I didn't give any AP exam dispite the fact that my school didn't offer any. Should I give the AP exams or not? Is it a necessity/ important for getting into good colleges? What should I do? Should I self-study (I get good grades but I'm not a genius) or should I not give them at all?

If you want to major in Physics, I would say you should give the AP tests a shot, but wait until senior year when you might have more knowledge. It’ll give you more time to study as well. I won’t lie: AP tests can be very hard if you do not have proper instruction. But it doesn’t hurt to try. AP is hardly ever an admission requirement for colleges, though.
Good Luck on whatever you decide!!
