I've heard from numerous sources that Holy Cross makes it virtually impossible to double major, unless those two majors require similar course work. Is this true? I am planning a double major in Economics and Chemistry and I don't know if Holy Cross is the right place to do that.

It’s possible, but with not a lot of course overlap your schedule will not be very flexible. I’m pretty sure it would be that way at any liberal arts school due to common requirements such as a full year of language. If you get AP credit to count for these requirements it will help a lot.
