IS it me or is the SAT USHistory Hard??

Hi guys,
I am currently taking some practice tests from the Barrons 2009 edition of the SAT preparation series. Even though I consider myself a 'history guy', my current progress seems deplorable(to my standards 50-60/90). I am getting more and more frustrated as my scores seems stagnant and un-improving. What is your opinion about the exam?? should try other techniques? what can i do to improve? ( also I have the AP US History exam on Wednesday!!)

Get Collegeboard’s big Subject Test book. It has an official practice test that will give you a realistic picture of your current level. I think Barron’s is harder than the real thing for almost every subject test!

No kidding! The first time I took a Princeton Mock of US Hist. I got a 570 despite passing the exam. I think it’s much harder than the AP, for one.

That is the very sad truth. :(

To the OP:

The exam really isn’t that hard. I did not study at all for the exam, took it after a 5-month hiatus from any study of United States History, and came out with an 800. It does get into some of the more obscure aspects of the subject and has an overabundance of emphasis on detail, but if you consider yourself a “history guy” and have general knowledge about most of the political periods in USH, you’ll be quite fine.

Barrons is absolutely harder for pretty much every subject (I was getting 2s on Barrons Calc AB tests as of the day before and got a 5 on the actual exam), which is why I always use them, it’s nice to be pleasantly surprised.

I found the SAT2 really easy, but I’m good at committing specific facts to memory. If you are a history guy, you’ll be absolutely fine.
