Is it normal to have such a difference in scores for ACT and SAT?

I took the SAT and got a horrible score: 1470 (CR 470, M 470, W 530) (Essay 8) and that was with a bit of prep (not much). However I did a math section of the ACT and scored a 26 (without any prep). I realize that’s pretty low for CC standards, but I was a bit proud of it. Not only that I signed up for prepscholar online ACT course and I took the diagnostic. Although it doesn’t give you your score, it shows that I am advanced in many of the areas the ACT covers.

Is this normal? Should I just stick to the ACT and forget about the SAT? To take a second SAT or not? Should there be a significant discrepancy between the SAT and ACT?

Take a full, TIMED, practice test in to confirm that the ACT is better for you. It seems like it is for math.

For many students, there is a “better” test. SO this is normal.

Welcome to Prep Scholar! I’m currently enrolled for the SAT! I got my score up 230 points in 2 weeks. Tempted to try PS for the ACT. :open_mouth:

I am so glad I chose Prep Scholar, It seems it will really help me improve. I did kaplan online test prep for the SAT and it was obviously not as good as Prep Scholar! Nice job on raising 230 points in two weeks, that is awesome!
