Is it ok to change grading to P/NP?

I am a new foreign PCC student this semester.
I took the class Engl100(pre-re of Engl1A), and I finally find the professor rarely give you an"A" which surprise me a lot....
So my question is if it is okay to change this class's grading to P/NP? i am afraid the UCB would look down on you. ps. Engl100 is nontransferable, but Engl1A is transferable. And my major would be math.

The counselors at my cc recommend taking some of the remedial classes P/NP. I never have because I think it would lower my motivation to be successful in the course. I don’t think Berkeley will look at you differently if you take a few remedials P/NP, but you should talk to a counselor before you make the decision because their may be rules about how many courses you allowed to take P/NP.
