is it okay to ask a senior year teacher to write a rec for an earlier deadline?

I'm not applying early, but a lot of my schools, to apply for scholarships and whatnot, ask for the application to be turned in by mid-November.

I have one teacher rec secured, but I'm out of ideas of who to ask for my other one. I know colleges want one from either junior year or senior year, so I'm opting for the senior year -- would it be alright to ask a senior year teacher (who I had last year for one semester) to write a rec. for me?

We're not the friendliest, but I was wondering if it's worth a shot.

This should be fine so long as the teacher is actually willing to give you a good rec. To find out, try asking the teacher ‘what would you be able to say about me in a recommendation?’. Maybe have an after school conversation giving the teacher some examples of ways you have stood out in his or her subject area.

well, for starters, select a teacher who’s comfortable with you and who knows you WELL. if he/she is obliging enough, approach elegantly and get it done swiftly.
