Is it okay to have a sophomore year Honors teacher write you a letter of rec?

My sophomore year Alg 2/Trig teacher is writing me a letter and a lot of people say that having a sophomore teacher isn't good but I like her a lot and I feel like she would write a good letter for me. For my junior and senior year, I took most of my classes at a CC and I only got to know my teachers for 12 weeks, plus they had too many students for me to connect with. It might be too late for me to get some from my senior teachers. I already have one from my junior year American Studies teacher and I thought having a math teacher write me one would strike a good balance? I just think she'd write me a good letter

It’s fine, don’t worry. I don’t know why they are saying having a sophomore teacher write you a letter is bad.

A handful of schools strongly recommend or even require junior/senior teachers. If you are applying to one of those, best to email and make sure this teacher is OK. It sounds like they’d be OK with it given what you’ve said here.

Of course some schools don’t even want a rec, or a second rec at all - check web sites or the CA.

It’s not ideal, but work with what you have.
